The kittens were born sometime between 6 pm and 11.30 pm on January 13th. Unfortunately I wasn’t home at the time, which is something I would have preferred - I’m the over-protective type when it comes to my kitties and I would have liked to have witnessed it! Oh well.
Lizzy delivered three kittens total, but one of the little guys didn’t survive the process somehow. Since I wasn’t home I’ll never know what happened. But the surviving two are the most amazing little creatures! I already have homes for them, but I needed to call them something until they go off to their new lives so I named them Dim and Sum, since they look like the little chinese dumplings you’d see at a dim sum restaurant. And of course its a terrible pun.
Dim is the bigger of the two and is the one with the orange spot right above the nose. Sum is visibly smaller but is VERY feisty when Dim is pestering him. Its been a while since I was around newborn kittens and I had forgotten just how tiny they are! Lizzy is a fabulous mother though - she’s really protective and makes the funniest noises! Whenever I pick up a baby to give it a kiss her paw always shoots out and lands on my hand with that sort of “YOU BE CAREFUL WITH THAT NOW OK??” look on her face. Amazing.
Wide Stance
Gay, gay, gay, KangaBlabba, KangaPolitik, Photography, SchoolStuff, Shenanigins 3 Comments »These are some of the images that I used in my ‘Wide Stance’ project - poking fun of and exploiting/exploring the issues brought up when Senator Craig of Idaho got busted for soliciting sex in a men’s restroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport. There’s a whole lot about the story, so Google it or check it out on Wikipedia..
But he claimed he wasn’t soliciting sex after all, and that his toe-tapping was actually because of his ‘Wide Stance’ thus began the project…

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh kay! Where to start? Shall we start the post the same way we started last night? Witha shot of warm Jose Cuervo? shudder
Last night was amazing. Even with the warm Jose.
Emitt organized a fabulous party for me “2 Dirty 4 Thirty” at Nathan and David’s house in Phoenix. I don’t normally do shots of tequila (unless you consider rapid infusion of margarita a shot) but since it was my birthday party and I didn’t have to drive - what the hell, why not.. right?? It was a red theme and everyone was supposed to show up in something red.. The Jose certainly had me seeing red.. tequila BAD!
So much fun though! Lots and lots of people showed up and once the party hit critical mass I don’t think anyone didn’t have a good time. It was really nice to see several people that I hadn’t seen in a long time as well as a few new people that were in the +guest category.
So a nice heartfelt thank-you to Lady Emitt for organizing (and showing up in drag.. hot..), David and Nathan for allowing their home to be used, and everyone else who showed up or called
So I guess having a party makes it official. After nearly two weeks of denial I am comfortable in saying that I am now officially 30.
Sounds weird.
Week End Update
Caturday, Gay, gay, gay, Photography, SchoolStuff, Shenanigins, Travel, Zombies! Add a comment »Getting Old: I survived my 30th birthday! My fraternity brothers and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and we had delicious hot-wings to celebrate. My mom sent me a crazy card that read something like “Oh, if only I could be 30 again - wait - I was unemployed and pregnant” which nearly made me drive off the road I was laughing so hard. But I regained control because I didn’t want to make the news as one of those senile old men that drives into a crowded market and kills half-a-dozen people.
Travel/Shenanigans: So today we’re going to California… to SoCal to Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Disney this weekend.. I’m driving someone else’s car and there are five of us… I hope I can survive
This will be my first trip to California - granted I’m going to be in LA which most people just kinda roll their eyes about - but whatever - its one more state I can add to my list of places visited. Several of my classmates told me I should visit the San Francisco-and-north region of the state, which is fine and dandy but that isn’t the goal of this weekend
I think I’ll just get a job this spring and buy a motorcycle and tour the west this summer with a tent and my camera. THAT would be awesome.
Travel: I got my passport back already today - one full week’s turn-around time - I think that’s pretty impressive.
School: I sought the advice of the sages, and they pretty much agreed with what I want to do: Drop the Interdisciplinary Studies BIS degree and just focus on the Photography BFA degree. I can still do a sociology minor, but this clears the way for me to graduate on time which at this point is a major goal. It also frees up my schedule a bit to focus more on art classes and opens the way for me to find an internship/job next year during my (final) senior year at ASU. w00t.
Battlestar Cracklactica: SciFi channel is advertising a lot for their new Battlestar Galactica mini-series which means one thing: its coming in December. They’re advertising it so heavily that I hope they don’t OVER hype it.. but who am I kidding - I’ll love it even if its ridiculous.
ZOMBIES: Speaking of ridiculous - on Monday some of the brothers and pledges went to go see Resident Evil: Extinction. Amazing Zombie movie. Plus, as in all her other films, you get to see Milla Jovovich’s ta-ta’s.
I spent an unacceptable amount of time in the dark-room at school today. I got a lot done, but I’m completely tired. Jeremy sent me a text message at 10:17pm asking where I was, I told him that I was on my way home, to which he replied “Damn girl. You want a tall glass of bourbon ready for you at the door?”
I love Jeremy.
I got home and I knew Dante was here because I saw his car parked outside. I walk in and all the lights are out, and I see Jeremy (only because he is a cyborg and has the computer attached to his knees), Emitt and Dante. I asked them what they were doing sitting in here, in the dark… …I don’t remember what they said because it was dumb and didn’t make much sense. I tricked Emitt into leaving after he molested me and showered me with spittle.
People from Ajo, AZ have NO manners what-so-ever.
I’m not usually one to be impressed by these viral video clips, this one is really cute.
Photography, Twitter, Flagstaff
Gay, gay, gay, KangaBlabba, Photography, SchoolStuff, Shenanigins, Travel 2 Comments »This weekend is the Flagstaff, AZ “Pride in the Pines” festival. I’m going, and so are 8 other ΣΦΒ boys - should be fun
I’m undecided if I want to take my camera or not… on one hand its fun to take pictures and have things to post online, on the other hand its expensive and I don’t want to break/lose it. At least its a high-altitude venture, so the alcohol will hit faster which means it should be cheaper than drinking in Phoenix. w00t
I signed up on twitter today. If you want to add me on there, my username is pigeon_assassin. Yeah, I’m bored teehee
I’m taking a summer class in Non-Silver photography, and so far its been a great learning experience, if a little on the frustrating side because some of the items are taking a very long time to make. Oh wells, learning is fun, right? I’m developing a theme for my final project too, which has me excited.
Yay! I’m going camping with the fraternity brothers this weekend.. its sure to be a fabulous time.
