YAY!! I’m super excited.. you see today I found out that a picture I took back in March during PHX Gay Pride has been published along side a story about my fraternity!! I’ve never had anything like this happen before so please excuse this moment of self-bragging 
I’m really quite happy about it. This won’t be the last time you see a photo of mine published in a magazine either…
Ladies and gentlemen, I am broke.
I don’t blame the constant going out, movie’s or other such necessities. I blame the auto-pay industry. No - not the ones that pay for auto’s - the ones that automatically deduct your monthly bill from your checking account or credit card. More specifically I blame the ones that say “It make take a month or two to setup your automatic payment, so please continue to pay your bill until the automatic transfers start.”
I set up an automatic EFT for my insurance bill because I kept forgetting to pay it. But I set that up last month and I hadn’t heard anything from Allied Insurance so I checked my account on their webpage and it showed my account being in past due status. Grumbling, I decided to pay my insurance online just in case since that seemed the responsible thing to do.
The next day my automatic balance notice on my checking account looks to be a bit low from what it should be so I examine transactions posted. Turns out Allied’s ETF kicked in ON THE SAME DAY that my “oh shit I forgot to pay the bill again” online payment posted.
BAH.
I apologize that I haven’t been as active in my blogging as I should be. Allow me a quick recap of things that happened over the most recent weekend:
Thursday: Watched “Over the Hedge” with Mike, Carlos and Chez. Really cute movie, especially Hammy the Squirrel. “But I like the cookie!” Friday: Joined a gym! (LA Fitness) Played with Carlos, Sam, Mike and Chez at the Biltmore Hotel.. we went swimming, drank booze and ate pizza. It was good times.
Saturday: I sold my 15GB 3G iPod to That Man for $50. Later I went to Targé and then to Quizno’s for dinner. As I pulled into the parking lot I could see the person sandwich jockey behind the counter shout “FUCKING GO AWAY” at me. So I went in anyway, since they weren’t yet closed, and proceeded to be as disgustingly nice as possible. I won’t go back there again though.
Sunday: I dreamt about eating pancakes with Viggo Mortensen so when I woke up I threw on some clothes and went to the store to buy pancake stuff. (Weird right?) In the afternoon I made it to the gym for my first workout! All I did was the elliptical runner because I didn’t want to kill myself by starting out too fast. Later, Emitt made me go watch A Prairie Home Companion. For this he will suffer. At least we had Pei Wei before-hand. Actually the movie wasn’t that bad but it just wasn’t that good.
Monday: Nothing exciting happened until Emitt got bored and didn’t want to hang out at Emitt’s house any more so he came over and made me clean my kitchen (bastard). Afterwards we cooked pasta and drank lots of wine. Hoooray wine!

I really hate my apartment complex, but I really, really hate FedEx. I’ve been waiting all day for them to deliver a package. Knowing the woman that “works” in the apartment complex’s office flees at 4:59:59 pm each afternoon, I have been neurotically refreshing the tracking page. Nothing. Finally I refresh it at 5:09 and it shows that at 5:06 a delivery attempt was made but could not be completed because “No one was home or office is closed”.

In this circumstance why is the FedEx driver unwilling/unable to actually come to my apartment and attempt a delivery at say, oh.. I dunno, THE ACTUAL ADDRESS THAT THE PACKAGE IS DESTINED FOR? What is even MORE troublesome is the fact that yesterday FedEx delivered something TO MY DOOR (which shocked the hell out of me). I know this isn’t entirely FedEx’s fault - the apartment office could be a little more accommodating to the residents and stay open later in the day.
But this place has NEVER been in the business of accommodating the needs of their residents, at least since I’ve moved in. I checked my lease today, and apparently there is a clause in it in which they are supposed to notify me in writing if they intend to convert my unit into a condominium, which they’re doing with the ENTIRE complex.. I’ve not received any such notice so maybe I’ll make trouble for them since my life here has been a living hell due to the constant construction. BAH.
(UPDATE: Apparently the Arizona Revised Statute § 33-1326-1328, which would have allowed me to make trouble, expired in 1985… sigh at least the complex updated its website and are no longer advertising “luxery” condos….)
