Reasons why today is significant:

• I actually made it to HR Block to do my 2005 taxes!  The sad part is I now owe over a grand
• It was exactly ONE YEAR AGO that I went to my first rush event with Sigma Phi Beta!  I’m very excited about this years rush/pledge process as I get to enjoy it much more now that I’m in the fraternity
• I move in 16 days!  Time to start packing!
• 37 days until Battlestar Galactica Season 3 starts!!!

I splurged, I admit. I pre-ordered Battlestar Galactica Season 2.5 and also bought the soundtracks to season 1 and 2. I <3 the BSG and it makes me a happy kanga.

Gina Escapes

I went shopping today for my art classes.  Before I’d even gone crazy purchasing photo supplies, I’d spent nearly $250.  There are still a few things left to purchase.

I had to haul large sheets of paper to school today… while on a bicycle.. this is not an easy task, especially when the wind is blowing in the wrong direction and the collective paper inside of a large plastic bag starts acting like a sail.

Today I peed on a dead cockroach floating in the drain of the urinal.

I cannot believe the crap that came out of the professor in my FLA 494 class.

So the class was about gay identities, but it was all FRENCH films and half the class were french majors expecting a class to be conducted in french…

The professor was a combination of Ross Perot and Beverly Leslie (from Will & Grace) and was the most disconcerting ass-hat I’ve ever had to deal with.

Today was the first day of classes at ASU for the fall semester.  18 hours this semester..  my eariliest class is 11:40 AM   BUT I also have lateness because of this.. On Wednesday I potentially will not get out of class until 9:40.. the Yuck.

But here’s my classes this semester:

• Art History 102 – Renaissance to Modern
• Art History 494 – Medival Manuscripts
• Art 113 – Color
• Art 204 – Photography II
• Sociology 341 – Modern Social Problems
• Film 494 – Special Topic: Gay Identities

I am super excited about Medival Manuscripts and Photo II.  I’ve got roughly two months to work on a portfolio in Photo II so I can present it on Oct. 15 and hopefully get into upper division classes and continue with my primary major.

Tonight we had a CRAZY thunderstorm, like the kind when I was a kid in KC.  Power was out in half of Tempe and the streets were flooded just about everywhere.  I drove to pickup Jeremy on campus and then to go to dinner, and it took 30 minutes to drive 1 mile.  GROWL.  Oh well.  Emitt came over to hangout cause his power was out.

Time I started: 1:46 AM

1. Back-to-school time is crazy. I have a lot of books to buy and read.
2. Lots of VERY hot men at Amsterdam tonight. I need to quit eating anything that tastes good and workout at least two times a day.
3. Lezboodakkas drive big trucks, don’t park very well and look very out of place at Amsterdam.
4. Drunk people amuse.
5. Drunk Asians are even more fun.
6. I am happy to be single. I see too many examples of unhappy people in unhappy relationships and it makes me appreciate my cat even more. If Mr. Bigglesworth and I disagree on something I simply turn on the vacuum and laugh as he runs away.
7. I am totally insecure and the number of complements I received tonight on my appearance have caused me to wonder: Did I really look that much better tonight, or do I just look that bad all the rest of the time?
8. Nearly everyone likes my goatee. I shall keep it for a spell.
9. I look 5 years younger wearing contacts.
10. Mr. Bigglesworth is the best cat on the face of the planet, even if Jeremy wants to kill him and Cookie (Asian from #5) wants to eat him.
11. My only alcoholic beverage tonight was the BEST mojito I’ve ever had, made fresh for me by a very handsome & shirtless bartender who was wearing a jock strap. I tipped him extra because of that and told him why. GrrrrrrrrrrrWoof.
12. Men with mohawks are especially nice to look at.
13. The freshmeatmen that showed up at the LGTBQ Coalition welcome reception were quite a savory bunch.
14. Sadly the men from points 11, 12 and 13 are exclusive of each other.
15. Emitt got a new 15″ Mac Book Pro friday night, and I am jealous.
16. I will get a new iMac this spring.
17. Paranoid lesbians are more annoying than overly-dramatic gay men. But they’re good at killing bugs and a lot of them drive pickup trucks (which are quite useful), so I keep them around.
18. Telling a lie is a sign of weak character and shows a lack of respect to not only yourself, but to others. This is true even if the lie is a little one. Learning this most often comes from careful observation of people, age and experience. If you don’t learn this you are probably a sociopath.
19. Honking your vehicles horn at midnight in a parking lot is rude and unnecessary.
20. The fall 2006 ΣΦΒ rush shirts are way hot.
21. Last nights 200th episode of Stargate SG-1 was FUNNY as all get out. Sadly, I got *every single* inside joke from it, which means I’ve watched entirely too much SG1. I even teared up a little.
22. There are 47 days until Battlestar Galactica season 3 start. I get goosebumps every time I see a preview for the upcoming season.
